UFC middleweight Rousimar Palhares will return to action in his home country of Brazil this August, according to a report from Tatame.com.

Palhares will meet fellow Brazilian submission specialist Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira on the card, according to a separate report from Portal Vale Tudo. Ferreira had a seven fight win streak snapped in his UFC debut, a TKO loss to Vladimir Matyushenko, but he has finished 17 of his 25 career fights by submission and is a dangerous competitor in his own right.

Palhares has gone 5-2 in seven appearances in the UFC since debuting in March of 2008. After a decision loss to Dan Henderson in his second fight in the organization, he went on a three fight win streak before getting stopped by Nate Marquardt at UFC Fight Night 22 last September.

However, Palhares got right back on track in March, submitting Dave Branch by kneebar in the first round of their bout at UFC on Versus 3 in Louisville, Ky. Now, he'll attempt to take another step up in competition to move himself back up the ladder.

UFC 134 will be the UFC's first return to Brazil since 1998, and the event will be headlined by the Middleweight Championship bout between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami.

Penick's Analysis: Palhares can be a really exciting fighter to watch, and his submission game is absolutely vicious. He's got a bit of a mean streak to him as well, and if an opponent isn't on top of things they can wind up hurt against him. He's a very good part of the UFC's middleweight roster, and this fight is a great addition to this card.

This post was updated with news of Palhares' opponent.
